Research
SoftBank’s brand book is extremely limited, and designing without constraints can be paralyzing. I approached the problem extremely literally: In the few product shots I could find I saw bold colors and a tendency for geometric ordering, as well a set of brand colors.
Concept + Design
It occurred to me that Softbank is a sort of glue, or a matrix that held together a loosely related set of companies. And the concept was born.
Schematics
The limited budget and rapid pace of this project meant fabrication drawings would have to be as clear and simple as possible. I worked with a long-time business acquaintance, meeting in person regularly, to make sure things progressed on schedule.
